Hands on Training on Working with Plutonium and Actinides

The A-CINCH consortium would like to invite you to the Hands on Training on Working with Plutonium and Actinides. The course is organized by the Chalmers University of Technology. It takes place in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 5th - 9th of September 2022. 

The course is organized by the A-CINCH consortium and it consists of 2 parts:

  1. Distance learning via CINCH Moodle (see and sign up at moodle.cinch-project.eu) – follow-up discussions on-site.
  2. Hands-on training that will take place at the Chalmers University of Technology, Johanneberg, Gothenburg, Sweden.

All teaching will be in English.

Description:

The course provides fundamental theoretical knowledge of principles and concepts on Plutonium and Actinide chemistry.

The theoretical knowledge is complemented by practical hands-on training in the selected radioanalytical methods.

It consists of a theoretical component which will be delivered through combination of distance learning via CINCH Moodle/electronic platform and on-site face-to-face teaching.

The practical hands-on component will take place in active laboratories at the Department of Nuclear Chemistry of Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. 

Target group:

This dedicated training course has been designed for individuals with at least Masters’ level Chemistry background, who need to extend their skills and knowledge of nuclear and radiochemistry to the field of application of radionuclides and ionising radiation in analytical chemistry.

The deadline for applications is August 20, 2022.

No course fee will be charged to the participants and a budget exists to support travel and accommodation expenditures of the participants. To apply for the Travel Fund grant, please, click here.

Registration to the course and application for the Travel Fund grant are two separate procedures and are to be completed in parallel.
