ISTR 2017 conference

The 9th International Symposium on Technetium and Rhenium: Science and Utilization, 5 November - 10 November 2017, Sydney, Australia

ISTR 2017 will be carrying forward the tradition established by over 20 years of meetings on Technetium and Rhenium that have occurred every three years. The meetings began in 1993 and have been held successively in 1993 (Sendai, Japan), 1996 (Moscow, Russia), 1999 (Shizuoka, Japan), 2002 (Dubna, Russia), 2005 (Oarai-Ibaraki, Japan), 2008 (Port-Elizabeth, South Africa), 2011 (Moscow, Russia), and 2014 (La Baule - Pornichet, France). The aim of ISTR 2017 is to cover all aspects of Technetium and Rhenium chemistry. The conference will be organized around plenary lectures (30-40 minutes), short lectures (15-20) minutes and poster

The technical program will cover the following topics:

  • Technetium and Rhenium in nuclear medicine (isotope production, labelling, coordination chemistry
  • Chemistry of Technetium and the use of Rhenium as a simulant in the nuclear fuel cycle (separation, disposal, waste form
  • Radioanalytical chemistry (Measurement and detection of Tc an Re in the biosphere
  • Fundamental chemistry of Technetium and Rhenium (synthetic, materials and coordination chemistry, inorganic and organometallic complexes, properties
  • Rhenium in industry (mining, metallurgy, catalysis)
